"eh?...come again?"
Favorite Anime(s): Akazukin
Cha Cha, APCG Nuku Nuku, You're Under Arrest (OVA/TV), El-Hazard (OVA), Tenchi Muyo, Mononoke Hime, Catnapped, The Dog of Flanders, Macross Plus, Gunbuster, Gall Force (don't ask my why) Favorite Character(s): Lime (Saber Marionette R/J/J to X, etc..), Ryoko (Tenchi Muyo), Cha Cha (Akazukin Cha Cha), Natsumi & Yoriko (YUA), Favorite Style(s): Everything basically ~ comedy, romantic and otherwise, drama, fantasy, mecha, and shoujo. Generally any comedy mixture. Of course the anime itself needs to be good ... Least Favorite Style(s): Anything gory, or obscene and gratuitous Favorite Format(s): Plot would be nice :) but filler episodes for comedies are still loved. Usually Movies and OVA are better when the series originated that way and vice versa for TV -- hmm, I wonder why . . . SUBBED is a must - I can tolerate dubs, but I still dislike them expect for the rare case of Pokemon (which is pretty good). IMHO american voice actors pale in comparison to their Japanese counterparts so generally I very much dislike dubbed versions after I've seen 'em subbed or raw ^-^;; |
Well
this up coming school year I'll be a senior <<yaaa!/sob ;_;>>
and (co)editor-in-chief of my school's yearbook - Kaleidoscope - cool,
ne?
But yeah as for anime, I was technically introduced to it about, um, 6-7 years ago when I borrowed a DBZ famicom game from a friend and grew more aware of the art style in anime etc. That's probably the main reason why I was so easily drawn to anime: for the art - which I love and love to do as well.
Round my friends I'm known for my secret anime life and usually supply my Japanese club (kokoro kara!) with anime - but I'm not a fanatic, and I've met many who've annoyed the heck out of me since they thought they were "all that" -- so I've made it a goal to stay away from that path. In fact that's one of my pet-peeves: disliking arrogant, egotistical fanatics, along with dubs (esp Tenchi Muyo & El-Hazard <<blah (>_<) BAAAAD acting>>), and people who create running commentaries or ask questions during movies - eh go figure.
For the past 4 years I've attended AnimeExpo and have enjoyed the music video contest they've had and the masquerade. It's really cool there and if you can, I'd advise anyone and everyone to go! Beside anime I like Japanese even though I'm Chinese (I like Chinese too, but since I can't speak it and it's not offered at my school, well. . .). This past school year I participate in our club's first taiko group (kokoro kara taiko) in our talent show @ Knott's Good Time Theatre and thanks to all the gratefully help from Jodaiko (UCI's group) we won "special performance" YEAH!
Other than that the other half of my life is dedicated to yearbook and school ~ thus I don't really have much of a life at all really. . . (-_-) oh well . . . - Nimh
